I am currently a resident of Dallas, TX.  I am the CEO/Owner and House Poet at, “The Brown Sugah Lounge." LyriK Hunter, birth name, Krystal, was raised in West Texas (Midland), where she began writing and singing at an early age.

I grew up in a home where expressing your thoughts was welcomed, BUT only when permission was granted. Soon, poetry and music became more than just a pastime or hobby. These passions, in her adult life, eventually graduated into a creative space of therapy and life. By writing down the pain and turning those words into pages full of Life and Therapy, LyriK, wrote her way out of darkness and into the light.

Today she is still learning and finding new reasons to walk in her greatness by sharing her art with the world, in hopes of touching those who need it most in their life journeys; reminding all that no matter how hard life gets, there is still peace, and in that peace brings light and new life every single day.

Lontage D. Woods is a Cottonport, Louisiana native with over twenty years of experience working with children and families, from diverse backgrounds as an educator and family  & youth advocate. Her community involvement includes serving as a Youth Director on the local and state level in faith-based youth organizations, volunteering at women and children shelters, and developing a student speech and debate group for an elementary charter school in Baton Rouge, La.

Sonya grew-up in Moreauville, LA. After graduating from Avoyelles High School in 1996, she enrolled at USL now known as UL@L where she earned a Bachelor of General Studies with a
concentration in Applied Life Sciences (2001).

Sonya went on to earn a Master of Business Administration degree along with a Human Resource Management Certificate from the
University of Phoenix (2009-10), Master of Science in Psychology – Organizational Leadership
Development from Capella University (2012), and Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University (2020) in pursuit of becoming a Licensed Professional
